Student Design Competition

We challenge students to participate in the Student Design Competition at INTERACT 2011.

The three best design solutions will receive a diploma and a prize, as follows:

• 1^st place: Smartphone
• 2^nd place: Microsoft Kinect
• 3^rd place: Mouse

Theme
This year's student design competition theme is an intimate communication system. In line with the conference theme "building bridges", your goal is to reinforce existing personal relationships by going beyond basic chat and video, enriching communication using diverse modalities.

Process
Submissions consist of a 2-page extended abstract in the conference format and a set of slides (10 slides max.). Submissions are individual work, i.e., each submission may have only one author.

Selection process

1. Students should send their submissions to sdc@interact2011.org by 23:59 (Lisbon time) on Wednesday.
2. The best solutions will be selected by the SDC committee for a 10-minute presentation on Thursday afternoon, at 4pm, room Douro 2. Given the presentations, the committee will select the three solutions considered best.
3. The three best solutions will be awarded their prizes at the closing ceremony.
